EVERYTHING WAS PILATES AND EVERYTHING HURT
Seriously, this Pilates class is kicking my ass (in the best way possible). It’s amazing to think that I could probably pump out 30+ sit ups or push ups easily and quickly, but as a whole unit, my body is so weak. On the bright side, though, that’s why I’m taking the Pilates class at all, and I’ve already lost weight. Yay!

Xander’s return and subsequent speech on the first episode of BTVS Season 4 has me literally in tears.

This just completely and totally encapsulates something, that awkward and hopeless and burning unrequited love we all wish we couldn’t relate to, but absolutely can. We all have felt this, we all want this to be felt about us. It’s heartbreaking...

Bad habits die hard.
“It’s not the object of desire; it’s the habit of craving.”
When I don’t have anything romantic going on in my life, I tend to want to create something. Suddenly the tiniest of gestures are taken as sweeping declarations of hidden or forbidden love. A single glance causes me to write in my notebook margins for hours as to what it could mean. A random compliment puts...

My great uncle has a Wikipedia page. This is so weird - I know he won a part of the 2000 Nobel Prize in Physiology, but to me he’s just Uncle Eric, the man who always wears a bow tie, tells me I can go to Harvard if I want to, and has the greatest laugh I’ve ever heard.

She knows me too well.
Me: So I've been watching Jesse Eisenberg movies...
Elyse: Oh really.
Me: Yeah, because he's been getting a lot of Oscar buzz and I've never seen a movie of his before.
Elyse: Oh, sure, THAT'S why you're watching.
Me: What?
Elyse: Is he Jewish?
Me: What?
Elyse: Is he Jewish?
Me: ...yes.

HEALTHY MEAL SUCCESS
So I keep forgetting that I have things like chicken in the freezer. And an ability to cook. And also the time to do it. I forget all those things.
But today - I remembered.
1 chicken breast
A couple mushrooms (I think I cut up 4 or 5 small ones)
Broccoli (I used frozen because I live on a college campus and fresh is hard to find)
Olive oil
Garlic salt (to taste)
Good music (I went with...

I had a serious, adult conversation with someone. And not a faux-adult conversation - those deep ones you have while sitting in the car because neither of you want to leave the driveway, or the ones where you meet someone at a party and have some sort of connection so you just sit outside on the porch and talk. No, this was a real, bona fide adult conversation. It wasn’t an easy...
The adventure of the To-Do List
GOALS:
finish reading for both English classes

laundry This got halted in the middle, as my washing machine decided to not drain. Thus I was left to grab my (one load’s worth of) clothes out of the icy cold water (seriously, folks, it’s ONE DEGREE here in Syracuse and my basement is uninsulated) and put them in the dryer. I had to pause several times...

In the last week -
I dropped from a double photo/English major to a photo major/English minor.
I applied for a major Syracuse scholarship.
I handed in a petition to recognize one class for another, and was turned down. Because of that petition, I was enrolled in another studio course, so I am currently taking Studio I and Studio II at the same time with the hope of graduating early.
I ran into old friends and old...
